The Fannin County Republican Party will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, October 20th at the Senior Center in Blue Ridge. A light meal will be served prior to the meeting at 6 p.m.
At this meeting, a treasurer will be elected to fill the unexpired term of Melanie Harris who resigned September 12th. Harris has taken a job in Atlanta with a state agency, and is unable to attend meetings.
Consistent with the FCRP Bylaws, at the September 15th meeting, Chairman Johnny Scearce appointed Assistant Treasurer Matt Rideout to fill the vacancy until an election can be held. All local media will be asked to publish an announcement before our next scheduled meeting October 20th that an election will be held at that meeting to fill the vacancy.
Our Bylaws state: In the event a vacancy is created in the office of any other position (other than Chairman) on the Executive Committee, the Chair shall have the authority to appoint someone to fill that vacancy until a regular election is held for filling such a vacancy at the next FCRP regular or special called meeting. The intention to fill such a vacancy shall be published at least ten (10) days prior to the meeting.
Nominations from the floor will be taken and a ballot election will be held October 20th.
Everyone is invited to attend this meeting.
