Georgia House Representative Johnny Chastain was the guest speaker at our April meeting, and he provided an update on the legislative session. The House passed a balanced budget that includes doubling the homestead exemption and lowering the state income tax to 5.39%. HB 1053, which prohibits state agencies from using central bank digital currency as payment, passed this week and is waiting for the Governor’s signature.
